Hi there, our office has had two bamboo stems in water for about a year and it is almost three feet tall. I was wondering if it would be possible to take a leaf from it and grow another. As you can tell, I am a little bit of a dummy when it comes to this. Any tips or advice how to do it would be great. No, I wont be putting it outside because I live in Canada and I do not think it will thrive in the snow.
Yes, you can take a cutting from the original bamboo stalk. I would suggest taking it from the bottom of the stalk where roots already exist and sticking the original bamboo stalk back in water. Just a heads-up, if you are planning on putting it in a container you'll do fine. Be careful planting it outside, it is very hearty and will take over your whole back yard.
