I bought a 2 foot bamboo about 3 months ago and it was doing great. All of a sudden my bamboo is dying at a rapid rate. It had 2 stems and they are yellow but the top is still green with leaves. Anyone know what I can do? I put more water in it when I saw it was dying. Maybe that made it worse. :-(
The problem here is the identity of your 'bamboo'. If it is one of these 'lucky bamboo' things meant for indoors then my advice would be throw it away and buy another. Incidentally they are not bamboos but a species of dracaena from the jungles of central Africa originally. They are not easy to maintain over a long period in water but will last longer if transferred to potting compost. If you have a proper bamboo which is intended for outside then keep it wet and it will eventually sprout some more shoots
