Bamboo Rolling

How do you make california rolls without using a bamboo mat?

What is the best way to roll them without using a mat? I want to try making them tonight for the first time. I am going to look for a bamboo mat but want to be sure how to make them just in case I can't find one. Thanks!

If you are going shopping anyway, look for a kit called Sushi Magic. Works like a charm and much easier than bamboo mats. If you don't find either, you can use a sheet of plastic wrap. A little more tricky but will still work. Good luck!

If you have not noticed, there was a recent outrage over the number of children and young kids that were strangled by the strings of blinds and suffocated to death. This had lead to companies such as Walmart recalling back all their blinds. This incident has shown us the dangers posed by window blinds and has lead to parents claiming for a safer alternative. This alternative is the cordless blinds.

Cordless blinds are a recently invented technique that does away with the strings and depends instead on manual movement for rolling the blinds up and down. The strings are the things that posed the safety hazards. When left tangling, young children and even pets can be caught and might not be able to move out of them. Worse, in their panic state, they might accidentally wrap the strings around their necks and suffocate. This is what caused the deaths that were mentioned earlier.

Fortunately, with these cordless blinds, such problems are a thing of the past. Many manufacturers are building cordless versions of their window blinds. From bamboo to cellular blinds, you will be able to find the non string versions available in many of the retailers and shopping sites. There is even the motorised versions where you will be able to control these blinds with a remote, which saves you the effort of even manually adjusting the shades.

The prominent brands selling these window shades are Hunter Douglas and Levolor. Both sites offer a wide range of models with different price range to suit people in all budget ranges. They have easy to navigate sites that can allow you to shop easily and without fuss.
