[phpzon]Bamboo Garden Table, 30, HomeGarden[/phpzon]
Today's wicker lawn furniture is not only attractive but it is made to be convenient and comfortable. Unlike the tan wicker furniture of the past the furniture today comes in earth tone colors. You can have gray, black, original tan, dark green and other colors in your furniture.
Wicker is an interesting medium since in itself; it is not a plant but made of thin twigs of willow, reed, bamboo and rattan. Rattan is the most widely used plant for making wicker lawn furniture however, bamboo is beginning to outnumber the rattan plant. Bamboo is being favored because it grows fast (about three feet per day) and tall (about 100 feet in height). Rattan grows tall (about 800 feet) but grows more slowly. Bamboo is considered to be a stronger plant than rattan although both serve the purpose for strength where the furniture is concerned. Some furniture chairs will accommodate about two hundred and fifty pounds in weight.
Before wicker lawn furniture if you wanted to enjoy your back yard you had to bring in chairs from the indoors or use folding chairs. If you wanted to eat outside then you had to bring out the card table or another folding type table. Your back yard looked as if it had no rhyme or reason and definitely no comfort. You might just as well eat indoors or sit on a blanket in the grass. Today you can eat on an outdoor furniture table made of either glass or clear plastic with an umbrella to shield you from the sun. And you can enjoy the outdoors sitting or lying on your wicker lawn furniture.
Your wicker lawn furniture with its colorful and comfortable accessories will give your back yard the rhyme and reason it was previously lacking. You will enjoy entertaining friends and family as much in the outdoors as you do indoors because of the convenience and comfort. If you have been thinking about getting wicker lawn furniture don't hesitate the summer months will soon be here and it will be time to entertain.

Ideas for screening please?I would like advice on a new plant to help with screening. The garden is small - about 40 feet long by 19 feet wide. There are high fences and I have planted climbing roses and a bamboo on both sides, which works really well. I would now like to plant something in the centre of the garden, to make it less open and provide screening. There is already a large tree stump there which has been turned into a table to sit at, and so ideally, the plant would be about 6-10 feet high but quite narrow - say about 2-3 feet, if possible! It would be planted to the side of the tree stump. This part of the garden is in full sun. Any ideas welcome. I wondered about another clump forming bamboo or unusual grasses? (But have a cat who eats ornamental grass) Alternatively, a flowering shrub? It doesn't have to be evergreen, although that would be nice. Something quite delicate would be nice - so not a laurel plant or similar. Thank you!
Here are some ideas - Something to grow up a frame eg ivy with different colour leaves. A selection of climbing plants. Vines. (With grapes - eventually!) A soft fruit like damson, plum, apple or pear.. Buddleia - to attract butterflies. Magnolia. Some carefully considered, managed and researched firs.
